smartLookup for Plaxo - Would you be interested?

Hi,

I am trying to find mobile phone users who will be interested in beta-testing my new mobile phone application: smartLookup for Plaxo.

Would you be interested? Could you please put it into your news service?

Below is a simple write-up on the app:

smartLookup for Plaxo brings your contacts where you need them most - your mobile phone.
You choose which Plaxo folders to keep in sync, download your contacts and keep them updated by periodically downloading changes.
You can make calls directly from the application. No need to jot down numbers.
smartLookup uses the same set of fields as Plaxo address cards.
When you update your contacts you get all phone numbers and all emails.

smartLookup has been tested on the following phones:
- Samsung A707 SYNC
- Samsung A717
- Samsung A727
- Moto RAZR V3

However, other J2ME enabled phones should also work.

Windows Mobile smart phones and PDAs are also supported, but require installation of JVM (e. g. IBM MIDP 2.0 Emulator).

We are planning to support Nokia and other phones next, but we need help testing the software.

Please consider becoming a beta-tester!

You will need:
1. Account with plaxo.com
2. Mobile phone with
a) Java support (J2ME)
b) CLDC 1.0 and MIDP 2.0
c) Internal phone memory storage of at least 15..20Kb
d) Data plan

- or -
a) Windows Mobile phone or PDA
b) IBM MIDP 2.0 Emulator (Free software)
c) Data plan or Wi-Fi network

$4.49/month? That seems a bit pricey...I guess you are targeting the mobile road warrior. Too bad you don't have this available for the Palm 700p on Sprint.

Hi Erin!

What kind of phone do you have on Cingular?

I'm doing well; you should definitely come out sometime. Just let me or Rose know when you'll be able to make it and we'll make sure to show you a good time :)

Mark,

Thanks for your reply. No other features I can think of, but the only thing I can't figure out is ever since I installed plaxo, sometimes, not always, entries in my contacts and calendar show up twice (exact duplicates) Also when I start up outlook sometimes, it tells me that plaxo wants to add contacts and calendar items that are old and are already in the system. I usually just say not to update...otherwise, I love it...what a great tool.

Hi Morri, If you've already got syncing going on and you're on a smartphone, then this download is probably not for you. I think the only additional benefit would be the ability to view people's Plaxo photos (if they aren't already being synced :) )

Any particular Plaxo features you'd like to see on your Treo?

Thanks,
Mark
